Devva’s Room

The second Wednesday of the month at 7 PM Eastern/4 PM Pacific

It was a dream of Devva Kasnitz to expand Disability Studies from the ivory towers and share the information with everyone. Devva’s wish was to make it accessible to all. Jargon and acronyms will be avoided. Learning about a different topic each month, with time for questions, networking, and fun.

Justin’s Room

The third Wednesday of the month at 7 PM Eastern/4 PM Pacific

A time to tell our stories and share memories of others. 

Justin Dart and his wife Yoshiko took road trips multiple times, across the country, sitting with disabled people in every state to hear their challenges, successes, and hopes. They brought these powerful stories to Congress, helping to turn shared dreams into the Americans with Disabilities Act. 

Justin’s Room provides an opportunity to share and receive stories honoring this tradition, often with a featured storyteller about a person and topic to get things going each month.

Quarterly Disability Museum Work Virtual Gatherings

Typically, the 4th Wednesday of March, June, September, and December, though specific months may be adjusted as needed.

This is a space that provides a regular platform for those working on or interested in disability history and culture collections to gather, stay informed, share information, collaborate when necessary, and support ongoing projects.
